Devils Announce their 23-Man Roster

It took until the very last minute, but the New Jersey Devils announced their 23-man roster on Monday.

According to the Devils, the following transactions have been processed:

New Jersey has assigned defenseman Simon Nemec to Utica (AHL).

The club also has four players on their Injured, non-roster list: forwards Nolan Foote (Retro to 9/28/23) and Brian Halonen (Retro to 9/25/23) and goaltenders Nico Daws (offseason hip-labrum surgery) and Keith Kinkaid (Retro to 9/28/23).

New Jersey will carry 14 forwards, seven defensemen, and two goaltenders.

The following players have been named to the Devils 23-man roster:

Forwards

Nathan Bastian, Jesper Bratt, Erik Haula, Nico Hischier, Alexander Holtz, Jack Hughes, Curtis Lazar, Michael McLeod, Timo Meier, Dawson Mercer, Tomas Nosek, Ondrej Palat, Chris Tierney, Tyler Toffoli

Defense

Kevin Bahl,  Dougie Hamilton, Luke Hughes, John Marino, Colin Miller,  Jonas Siegenthaler, Brendan Smith

Goaltending

Akira Schmid, Vitek Vanecek

New Jersey will begin their 2023-24 regular season on Thursday when they face the Detroit Red Wings at home. They will take part in back-to-back games, facing the visiting Arizona Coyotes on Friday.

The Devils will have $1,677,455 in cap space to start the regular season, according to CapFriendly.
