Devils Recall Defenseman, Place Nosek on Injured Reserve
Cal Foote has been recalled from Utica with Colin Miller still on the shelf.
The New Jersey Devils announced on Monday that they’ve placed forward Tomas Nosek on the injured reserve retroactive to October 13th. As a corresponding move, defenseman Cal Foote was recalled from the AHL Utica Comets.
Nosek suited up for New Jersey in two games so far this season. The Czechoslovakian forward has registered no points in an average of 12:10 of ice time. Nosek served the Devils in a fourth-line checking role thus far.
Through three games of the Comets regular season, Foote leads Utica in points with a goal and an assist for two points. It’s been a rough start to the season for the Devils’ AHL affiliate. Through three games, they’re off to a 0-1-2 start.
Erik Haula and Nico Hischier stepped onto the ice for morning skate on Monday. It’s an excellent indication of their return to health. However, defenseman Colin Miller remains off the ice resulting in Foote’s recall.
On Saturday night, a report indicated Hischier’s health was trending in the right direction for New Jersey. Prior to the report, Lindy Ruff indicated the same for Haula.
Foote was present on the ice at RWJBarnabas Arena Monday morning in New Jersey.
