Last Game

The Devils couldn’t overcome yet another slow start against the Carolina Hurricanes in a 3-2 regulation loss. Sebastian Aho, Teuvo Teravainen, and Jordan Stall scored three consecutive goals through the first two periods of play for Carolina. Justin Dowling finally got the Devils on the board in the third period and Jesper Bratt cut the lead to one goal late. However, time expired before the Devils could mount a comeback. Nick Daws was pulled from the game after allowing three goals on 12 shots. Vitek Vanecek stopped all 11 shots he saw.

Player to Watch

Justin Dowling turned plenty of heads in his Devils debut scoring a goal and appeared to be one of New Jersey’s best forwards on Thursday. The 33-year-old forward marked his 99th career NHL game against the Hurricanes. Dowling became the 52nd player in team history who scored a goal in their Devils’ debut.
