Devils Daily: Acquired Grit; Jacob Markstrom’s Bombshell

Published

New Jersey Devils

Every game for the New Jersey Devils moving forward is pretty much a must-win at this point. Last night’s effort was certainly disappointing, and a missed opportunity against an inferior opponent. The loss hurt two-fold due to the Philadelphia Flyers also taking a loss. The Devils were unable to capitalize and inch closer to the Flyers who remain five points ahead of them in the standings. Tomorrow’s tilt against a sputtering Los Angeles Kings team is another opportunity, although, there’s not much reason to be optimistic at this point.

In the links, the Devils acquired some grit yesterday.

Elsewhere, lots of NHL Trade Deadline talk as March 8th is upon us. Rielly Smith fires back on rumors, San Jose’s trade partners in the East, and Philly’s sudden need for backup goaltending.

Devils News

New Jersey Hockey Now: The Devils are seemingly tired of being pushed around. Yesterday, general manager Tom Fitzgerald acquired an NHL tough man from the Colorado Avalanche.

More NJHN: The Devils dropped another crucial two points in a disappointing loss to the inferior Anaheim Ducks last night in a 4-3 regulation loss. Read up on the takeaways.
