Devils Daily: A Welcomed Return, Reilly On the Move
The New Jersey Devils are off today and will get back to work on Monday.
Yesterday was a lot of fun though, wasn’t it? It was reminiscent of the entire 2022-23 season in which the Devils ONLY sustained incredible success. It hasn’t been nearly as smooth for New Jersey this season, but Saturday night was a good step in the right direction.
Elsewhere, Calgary almost unites the Tanev brothers, Tippett benched in Philly, and Mike Reilly is on the move, plus more.

New Jersey Hockey Now: The New Jersey Devils looked more like themselves in their 7-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres. Read up on the takeaway’s including Alexander Holtz’s best game as a Devil, Smith’s presence at forward, and more.
More NJHN: Part of the reason New Jersey looked so much more like themselves on Saturday was due to the Devils activating Nico Hischier from the injured reserve which seemingly gave the team quite the boost.

Pittsburgh Penguins
Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Things seemed headed in the wrong direction after a loss to the Sabres on Friday. However, the Penguins came up with a gritty win against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.
Calgary Flames
Calgary Hockey Now: In a recent interview, Flames defenseman Chris Tanev revealed that he and his brother, Brandon, almost played on the same team as then general manager Brad Treliving almost traded for Chris’ brother.
Florida Panthers
Florida Hockey Now: From the Panthers’ perspective, Florida loses defenseman Mike Reilly as the New York Islanders claimed the 30-year-old off waivers.
Philadelphia Flyers
Philly Hockey Now: Owen Tippett has been excellent for the Flyers this season. However, John Tortorella doesn’t play favorites and benched Tippett after he was the direct result of a goal against Philadelphia.
New York Islanders
NYI Hockey Now: From the Isles’ perspective, with Adam Pelech hitting the long-term injured reserve, the Islanders needed a defenseman. Thus, they claimed Reilly off waivers from Florida.
