NJHN Daily: Devils Excuses; Brunette Threats Predators; Board of Governors News
Look, it’s probably true that what New Jersey Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe says to the media is slightly different than what he says in the room.
There’s little to no reason for him to call out his players at this point in his tenure. It’s good on him to take away the positives from what surely was a dominant effort over a good team to try to curate that into a win on Thursday against the red-hot Los Angeles Kings.
95% of Tuesday’s loss was a good game by the Devils. However, it’s that small 5% which led to the loss that separates them from being a trusted contender. This team still has a lot to prove by way of trust after last season.
In the links, in talking to the media, Keefe excuses the Devils’ loss last night. Perhaps that’s not what he’s telling his players, but that’s what he told us. Plus, why the Devils recalled their rookie goaltender and depth scoring issues.
Elsewhere, ex-Devils coach threatens Nashville, news out of the Board of Governors meetings, and a new outdoor game location revealed.
Let’s do that hockey.
