The NHL regular season schedule resumes today, and so does the New Jersey Devils’ (31-20-6). In their first game back from the 4 Nations Face-Off, it sounds like good news for the Devils.

The captain should be back, after both Sheldon Keefe and Nico Hischier shared positive updates on his injury status.

Following the world tournament, there’s plenty of reason for the Dallas Stars (35-18-2) to feel good about themselves down the stretch of the regular season. Their newly acquired forward, Mikael Granlund, showed out for Team Finland, and Thomas Harley was a major contributor after not even making the initial roster.

On the other hand, New Jersey is looking to turn the page on their middling post-Christmas performance. They’ll have a big test in front of them with the heavy Stars squad.

Also, Brendan Smith returns for the first time since leaving in free-agency this summer.
