Devils Daily: Playoff Leapfrog, Former Devils Defenseman Struggling

Published

New Jersey Devils

After flying home late last night following their victory over the Washington Capitals, the New Jersey Devils will hit the ice later in the day for a 1 o’clock practice.

The Devils’ victory put them back in playoff position, leaping the very team they faced last night and bumping them out of a playoff spot. Head coach Lindy Ruff was forced to ice a team without some key forwards due to injury. He opted not to use one of his top forward prospects on recall, but more on that in the links below.

Elsewhere, a former Devils defenseman is struggling in Pittsburgh, Boston’s rookie returns from the World Junior Championships dejected, and Florida’s captain can’t stop breaking franchise records.

Let’s do that hockey.

New Jersey Hockey Now: The Devils are calling for some forward depth in the absence of Timo Meier. They recalled their AHL leading goal scorer, Graeme Clarke, as reinforcement.

More NJHN: Yet another injury for the Devils, this time to a veteran forward. How long will he be out?

Even More: The Devils dominate the Washington Capitals Wednesday night on the backs of Nico Hischier, Dawson Mercer, and Michael McLeod. Read up on the takeaways.
