NJHN Daily: Devils End Droughts; NHL Trade Dam Breaks; Vegas Hunting Big, Again

Last night’s win against the Utah Hockey Club was a good one. The New Jersey Devils got scoring from Nico Hischier. The top six contributed per usual. However, it was Timo Meier who ended a goalless drought, as did Curtis Lazar. Down the stretch, Meier and depth scoring are going to be incredibly important factors.
More on last night’s tilt in the links.
Elsewhere, the NHL trade dam has broken, where can Erik Karlsson end up? And, Vegas is shopping for a big name, again!

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now
ESPN: Before we get into the NHL trade stuff, this is freakin’ cool. Apple watches helped NHL officials at yesterday’s Stadium Series in Ohio keep their eye on the play. Here’s how, and how it’ll help more in the future.
Pittsburgh Hockey Now: The NHL trade dam has broken. The Pittsburgh Penguins have parts to sell, including the talented defenseman, Erik Karlsson. Dan Kingerski highlight’s four potential trade partners, although one is likely out of the market for a blueliner after Saturday.
Boston Hockey Now: Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand exited Saturday’s game with an upper-body injury following a scary hit he took against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Colorado Hockey Now: The Colorado Avalanche have made another significance, acquiring defenseman Ryan Lindgren, forward Jimmy Vesey, and prospect blueliner Hank Kempf from the New York Rangers for Calvin de Haan, Juuso Parssinen, a conditional second-round pick, and a conditional fourth-round pick.
Florida Hockey Now: The Florida Panthers made a blockbuster trade Saturday night, trading goalie Spencer Knightto the Chicago Blackhawks for All-Star defenseman Seth Jones.
NYI Hockey Now: Okay, this one is not trade-related, but goalie goal! Ilya Sorokin scores his first… kind of. He followed up the goal with a hilarious quote.
Vegas Hockey Now: Of course, the Vegas Golden Knights are big game hunting. They’re competing with the Toronto Maple Leafs for the services of St. Louis Blues captain, Brayden Schenn.
The Nashville Predators and Minnesota Wild joined the NHL trade action, too. Gustav Nyquist has now been acquired by the Wild for a second time.
🔄TRADE:
We've acquired Minnesota’s own second-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft from the Wild in exchange for forward Gustav Nyquist. In connection with this trade, we've agreed to retain 50 percent of Nyquist’s salary.Full details » https://t.co/SgULUf7gnM pic.twitter.com/kMeWudEYIY
