New Jersey Devils

Look, the New Jersey Devils have given us no reason to believe they could sneak their way into the postseason. However, after last night, they’re only out of it by FOUR points.

That’s not insignificant.

Especially given the fact that the Devils defeated a Stanley Cup favorite last night on the back of their new goaltender, Jake Allen. It didn’t start out too hot, but he settled in quite nicely and Devils fans changed their tune on the 34-year-old quite quickly.

In the links, the takeaways from last night’s game in which the new guys shined.

Elsewhere, someone is going to be disappointed to see that they stole thousands of Jaromir Jagr bobbleheads rather than whatever they intended to steal. Pittsburgh’s Erik Karlsson dismisses trade rumors, and more expansion?

Let’s do that hockey.
